k-pop heal the world ft @gniyydnew and @twlandre [part 3]
Hello!
This is Part 3 of my K-Pop Heal The World experience, make sure you’ve read Part 1, 2 and 2.5 before reading this!
So uhh, i’ve been really really busy these days, so I really didn’t have the time to make a new post. I’m sorry. I actually still don’t have time, since Prelims are coming soon, but I’d figured I’ll make time for it. So, where did we leave off?
Right. Entering the arena. Big anticipation. Seeing our favourite stars on the stage. Exciting! We had a bag check before entering, and WOW there was so much food and cameras being confiscated. Thank goodness I didn’t bring my camera. We err.. passed the bag check and headed straight into the arena!!
My first impression of the arena? - Smaller than I expected. To be frank with you, I thought the stadium would be like “Indoor Stadium” big, it turned out to be “School Field” big. Although that may sound like a disappointment at first, I remembered that we had bought the cheapest ticket. So.. SMALLER ARENA + CHEAPO TICKETS + UPGRADE = CLOSER TO STAGE AND ARTISTS.
Our seats were actually.. the first row of category 2. The first row. AWESOME!
…but then I realised no one bought tickets, and i got sad. cat 3 only had a few people too. that’s sad. THE CONCERT WAS FOR CHARITY, WHY DOESN’T ANYONE SUPPORT CHARITY. YOU HELP LITTLE CHILDREN.
so err.. we got free lightsticks as well.. PINK!

k-pop heal the world ft @gniyydnew and @twlandre [part 2.5]
Hello!
This is Part
32.5 of my K-Pop Heal The World experience, make sure you’ve read Part 1 and Part 2 before reading Part32.5! Both posts should be right below this one.We left the “backstage area” at about 5.30pm. By then, there was already a pretty long queue for entry into the pavilion. We tried cutting queues again, but we felt it was too troublesome so we just went to queue at the back. The queue was like..

(Admit it, the drawing is cute…)
Why was the queue curved, you ask? It’s because there was another queue blocking us (the ticket queue). Anyway, everything went pretty well UNTIL we were asked by the security/staff there to form a straight line. So, we did move to form a straight line, along with the people queueing behind us. This is when things got complicated.
This.. tourist couple just went in and cut our queue for no apparent reason. Now of course I got pretty pissed off, so when I did tell them that we were in the queue. They retaliated in their “chingrish”, so I had absolutely no idea what they were talking about. They were a middle-aged couple, probably from Taiwan, since they spoke Cantonese. They roughly looked like this..

(Gosh with such mad skillz in Art I wonder why I took D&T. Picture isn’t that fantastic though, needs more wrinkles on the faces.)
So, they were old.. they spoke in chingrish.. there were many people around us.. so we just left them alone. I didn’t want to get posted on stomp also- “Teenager disrespects old couple” or some other ridiculous title. There were some people behind who were pissed at them as well, i think.
Oh, and they are fans of After School.
(P.S They’re actually from Hong Kong - Thanks Wendy!)

Some of you might say it’s karma for cutting queue earlier, and.. I do think it is. Ah well.. i’ve gotten over it long ago. I’m just writing down what I felt at the point of time. A couple of visits to the toilet and finally we were allowed to enter the stadium!~
However, that was just the beginning of everything…
To be continued in Part 3 - “Andre’s sotongness and Beatbox Sensation Dharni!”

k-pop heal the world ft @gniyydnew and @twlandre [part 2]
Hello!
This is Part 2 of my K-Pop Heal The World experience, if you haven’t read Part 1, go read it now! Gosh I sound so much like an advertisement.
Before I continue from where I left off, i’m sure you would want to know how we stalked the K-Pop idols. I’m sorry for lying to you, we didn’t actually manage to successfully stalk them. But you knew that, didn’t you?
So.. when we left the venue, we heard sounds coming from well.. inside this hall. Don’t mind the image, it’s taken from Google Street View.

So, we went in and guess what. THERE WAS NOTHING!! But that didn’t stop us (or.. well Wendy) from continuing to stalk them, we decided to find their backstage area.. and we kinda figured it would be at the back of the arena. So, we kept walking to the right to..

Now you can’t really see the side of it, but right there was basically a free entrance to the backstage area. There were police and security over at the other side, so we immediately knew we were at the right place. We wanted to get in, but at the same time we weren’t brave enough to risk getting arrested. So we made up a little “story” - that we got lost while trying to find the entrance.
Yup, that was our cover up story. We tried to continue sneaking in but then this security guy riding a bicycle showed up.
We just ignored him and ran into the backstage area!!!!!!- or at least I hoped to.. but we just left. sigh, what an anti-climatic ending. We wandered around expo for a little bit, chillaxed at Coffee Bean and made our way back to the Max Pavilion at about 5pm. We went to the other side of the backstage area where the police were for some particular reason. Anyway there were some people there for the Meet n’ Greet.
Meet n’ Greet? HMMZ.. HMMMMMMMZ… maybe we can sneak in? There were two groups of people seperated, the one on the left was for the meet n’ greet. So, we went over to the meet n’ greet section, but Andre was still at the right side. HE WAS JUST THERE, BLANKLY LOOKING AT US.
Just by himself, holding his subway shiz, staring at us blankly, wondering why there is a seperation between the two groups of people, and most importantly, WHY WE WERE AT THE OTHER SIDE.
AND SO we called him over lah but he kept saying NO for some reason?!?! and when we finally managed to persuade him. since we at that point of time didn’t know why there was a seperation we asked Andre to ask someone from that group. AND LMAO HE WENT AROUND LOOKING AT PEOPLE BLANKLY THINKING IF HE SHOULD ASK THEM OR NOT. LOLLLL I CANNOT EXPLAIN THIS ON PAPER BUT IF YOU WERE THERE WITH US HE SERIOUSLY LOOKED FUNNY.
(Did I mention the other time when I had to convince him for 30 minutes to ask a lady to apply for a job offer in a stationary shop. But that’s for another day.)
So he finally mustered up his courage and asked someone, and that’s how we found out it was for the Meet n’ Greet. So.. thank you, Andre. For both the free entertainment and the not-so-important information.
We didn’t manage to enter the Meet n’ Greet though cause they had a name list and special wristbands for them.. so it was close to impossible for us to sneak in. We did promise ourselves that we would come back to see the idols return to their vans though! (We heard MBLAQ rehearsing at the side of the arena)
Finally, it was time for the main event, the one we were all anticipating for.. THE CONCERT!
To be continued…

k-pop heal the world ft @gniyydnew and @twlandre [part 1]
Hello everyone.
I reckon no one actually uses tumblr anymore, but I promised myself to blog about nice experiences and I plan to keep that promise. :D
Last Saturday, 4th June 2011, I attended my second ever concert. (The first being Paramore’s concert last year.) It was Kpop Asia’s K-Pop Heal The World. It’s funny how at first I had absolutely no intention of going to a K-pop concert, until this game-changing offer from Groupon. I bought 3 tickets (for me and 2 friends) immediately after seeing that offer. I mean, with tickets at half the original price, and with artists that interest me (in particular After School and T-ara), who could resist NOT getting that?!
Anyway..
We had to queue to get our tickets so as perfectly normal “kiasu” Singaporeans, we went to the venue especially early to “get the best seats”. To be specific we arrived about 5 hours before the actual concert. (The concert starts at 7pm) We had lunch at Subway and then quickly went to the venue at around 3.30pm, and LUCKILY we arrived just in time because about 5 minutes later the queue started!!
I decided to “merge” with the front of the queue a.k.a cutting the queue. (YES I know it’s wrong of me, and I should be punished for cutting queue blah blah, but you’ll see how cutting queue pays off in a few seconds. :D)
5 minutes later..

Before you say “well you got your tickets, congratulations” sarcastically, I want you to notice what category we’re in.
..That’s right. We got 3 category 2 tickets!
How much does a cat 2 ticket cost? $180
How much did I pay for my ticket? $61
That, my friend, is what you call “super savings”. We were so.. SO happy that we did a little “mini-celebration” together on the spot. We honestly didn’t really care about what others thought of us at that point of time, really.
This is how the whole conversation went..
Wendy & Andre (while playing Monopoly deal): You got the tickets?
Me: Yup. We got shifted to category 2!!! (shows them the tickets)
All 3 of us: Woo-hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo-
yup.
Also, did I mention that we tried stalking the K-POP stars? (I tell you, it was Wendy’s idea!!!!)
More on that on the next post!!
(Thanks Wendy for the awesome Hi-Res photo of the tickets!!)

Spy Kids 4..?
So just found out via IMDB that there’s going to be a Spy Kids 4. Well the previous movie (Spy Kids 3D) was released about 7 years ago so I really don’t know why they are coming up with a sequel. The movie is called “Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World” and it’s set to release on August 2011.
The original cast of the three movies are also being casted, including Alexa Vega and that Juni guy (cant be bothered to find out his name).. except they’re not the main characters of this movie. That makes perfect sense though, seeing how they should have grown up to be adults by now. Besides, the movie is called “Spy KIDS”, not “Spy Adults”.
What I find really weird now is that the main character.. is actually Jessica Alba. Huh?
According the IMDB page, the storyline of the film is as followed
“A mother returns to her old profession — she’s a retired spy — in order to prevent a villain bent on stopping time. “
Uhh.. now what the hell? The story itself does not have anything to do with KIDS. I mean if they wanted the mother to be the main character she should have been in a spin-off film and not Spy Kids 4. The main characters of Spy Kids should well.. be the spy kids themselves!?! I’m sure the film itself is going to be great though, and the fact that the original spy kids have been casted in is definitely a nice addition to the film. Everybody loves Jessica Alba.. right?
P.S - Please don’t take this seriously. I just feel if they want to make a new Spy Kids film they should have just rebooted the franchise instead with cameos from the original cast.
